SBS ratings release for week 2, 2010


Man vs Wild started the New Year by attracting 609,000 viewers in the five metro areas and 309,000 in regional Australia, according to figures from OzTAM.

The perennially popular program has achieved an average 544,000 metro viewers to date, doubling its 2009 timeslot average.

Gourmet Farmer debuted with 279,000 viewers in metro areas and 177,000 in regional. The program follows Australia’s toughest food critic Matthew Evans to a farm in country Tasmania where he must learn to rear animals, plant a fruitful garden and cook with a wood-fired oven – putting to the test his primary belief that we should all be directly connected with our food.

A History of Scotland attracted 440,000 metro viewers and 207,000 regional. The program, which airs on Sundays at 7.30pm, has achieved an average metro audience of 406,000 viewers after only five episodes.

Adding to a week of above average viewership, Oz & James’s Big Wine Adventure attracted 320,000 viewers in metro areas and 149,000 in regional. It’s currently averaging 274,000 metro viewers in its Thursday 7.30pm timeslot.
