SBS ratings release for week 49, 2009


Man vs Wild conquered SBS’s program ratings last week, hitting number one on the list after it attracted 722,000 viewers in the five mainland capital cities and 449,000 in regional Australia, according to figures from OzTAM.

The increasingly popular program has achieved average audiences more than double the timeslot average for the year to date (average metro audience figures: 519,000 and regional: 307,000).

Destination: FIFA World Cup scored a hat-trick, appearing at third place in SBS’s metro and regional top ten program ratings list for the third consecutive week. Particularly popular among men aged 25-44, the show attracted 508,000 metro viewers and 272,000 regional.

Tuesday’s documentary, Honeybee Blues, which delved into the man-made threats to bees, attracted 347,000 viewers in metro areas and 265,000 in regional. These figures are 50 per cent above the SBS timeslot average for documentaries.
